The beers are brewed on sight and are extremely crisp and flavorful. Hang out at the bar or in the tap room, or outside by the fire pit. They have a good small bites menu that goes well with their handcrafted beers. It's a bit confusing that they go by the name Woodstock when their location is actually right in Phoenicia, but with beer this good, who cares? Plus , as they say, not even Woodstock happened in Woodstock!

The only vodka distillery I know of in these parts, and they have a great bar where you can sample their wares, Sometimes they have fun live music, and it's a fun place to go have a cocktail.

If you want to hang with the locals in Woodstock, this is the place. Sometimes they have bands. It's housed in an old train depot, and full of character. Be warned though - it can get very loud and crowded.

Take a scenic drive on this close-by road and check out the many beautiful old cabins and lodge style homes tucked in between the newer ones. The creek runs along the entire length of the road, for about five miles, at which point it dead ends at a camp ground and a few good hiking trail heads.

If you're in mood to rent a canoe for an unforgettably beautiful boat ride, this is the place for you. It is especially pretty in the fall. Also a great place for swimming, with a man-made beach and lifeguards, so family friendly for sure!

A few times a year, I love to drive down to Mohonk, where you can buy a day pass that will get you a wonderful meal and use of the beautiful grounds for hiking, snow shoeing, and so much more. Hanging out in the hotel makes you feel like you are in the Alps. It is beautiful and so old fashioned, a classic Catskills landmark.

This is a manmade beach on a delightful lake, framed by mountains. It is such a beautiful place to hang out, swim, dream. If you are traveling with kids, they are likely to find lots of playmates there, and a lifeguard to keep them safe. A wonderful spot.

Just a little north of Tannersville's main drag is this quiet and beautiful botanical garden. Its free and open daily from dawn to dusk. This is a nice place to get to know our botany of the region and a great spot for a meditative walk.
