Comfy casual outdoor seating (some indoor too, but count on outdoor), friendly staff, and though I haven't tried it, I've heard from friends that the food is really, really good. Upscale bar food in a downscale setting. This isn't an Austin must-see, but if you're looking for something that's close by and has less crowds than downtown, this is a great spot to hang out/chill out.

Nanami is really a really good sushi spot right next door. If you're looking for sushi and don't want to deal with a drive, I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent barbecue again, and like La Barbecue, a line forms early and they sell out. This barbecue is famous outside of Texas and foodies flock here, so if it's a festival weekend, you might want to skip it, but if you don't mind standing in line during a regular visit, this will be worth your while.

If you want barbecue close to the house, you can't beat Valentina's. It's really good, a South Austin favorite that used to be a food truck but was good enough to move up to a brick and mortar.

Parks & Nature
This Lake Travis overlook is a popular Austin tourist destination. Be ready for a big stair climb to the top. When you arrive, you'll have a beautiful view of Ladybird Lake and downtown as well as a view down the slopes to some beautiful lake homes that I will never be able to afford. ;)

Mount Bonnell
This Lake Travis overlook is a popular Austin tourist destination. Be ready for a big stair climb to the top. When you arrive, you'll have a beautiful view of Ladybird Lake and downtown as well as a view down the slopes to some beautiful lake homes that I will never be able to afford. ;)
If you visit Mount Bonnell, stop down the road at Mayfield Park. The park itself isn't large, but it's pretty and it's chock full of peacocks. There are also some nature trails that will take you out into the rough.
