Food Scene

Lovely food and a modern atmosphere. Avoid Friday nights from around 10pm if you don't want to mix with a lively bunch of teenagers!

This place is actually a Wine Bar as well as a Coffee Shop. We love to pop by on a rainy weekend afternoon and have some home made dark chocolate or cake with a glass of good Port or a cappuccino!

Drinks & Nightlife

Best ales in town. Period! Also serves really good food but my advise is, book in advance as it is usually packed. Be warned this is an old style pub so don't expect the decoration to be up-to-date but on the other hand it is also why it's appealing with open fire places burning on cold days :)

Closest pub to the flat, only a 5min walk towards town centre. You can't miss it! Atmosphere is friendly and they serve very good ale including one of my favourites, London Pride. Worth a try :)

National Trust managed, it's wonderful for walks in it's very dense forests. By the Ashridge monument there's a nice NT coffee shop serving food and hot drinks.

Lionel Walter Rothschild was a rich, eccentric and determined character who dedicated his life to the study of animals. His private collection formed the foundation of the Museum at Tring. In 1892, at 24 years old, Walter opened his museum to the public. It remains one of the largest private natural history collections ever assembled. Today it retains its unique Victorian character, including its original floor-to-ceiling, glass-fronted hardwood and iron cases. The 4,000 specimens on public display are still arranged in taxonomic order, classified into related groups, just as they were in Walter’s lifetime.
