This is the closest restaurant and it's within easy walking distance from my house. They offer breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, and the menu is varied. The surfer ambiance in this refurbished service station allows you to kick back and relax.

This is a newer restaurant, also within walking distance, that offers delicious small and large plates. Their raw bar and seafood are outstanding, but if a salad or burger is what you fancy, they do that, too. Dinner, brunch and everything in between is available. If you're into a beautiful bar and varied drinks menu, this is a great spot for you.

If you like Cider, or even if you don't think you do, you must stop here and treat yourself to a flight and taste some of what's on tap. I didn't realize how much variety there could be in cider, and they satisfy all palates. In addition to their cider, they also have a full bar with local brews and fun cocktails. And have I mentioned the food, yet? Delicious menu items from burgers and specialty hot dogs to beautiful salads and tacos... oh, and then there's poutine. This one, too, is an easy walk through the neighborhood from the house.

You think you know bagels? If you're not from Burlington or from Montreal, then you likely don't know about these bagels. They are wood-fired Montreal-style bagels that have become a staple here in Burlington. Personally, I find their turkey sausage to be one of the finer things in life, which pairs especially well with egg and cheese on a Montreal spice bagel... but an everything with scallion cream cheese can be just as satisfying. If your sweet tooth is calling, don't fear. They serve delicious baked goods that are baked on site as well.

Another wonderful bagel bakery in walking distance, Feldman's serves more traditional New York-style bagels. If you hit them up around lunchtime, you'll find salads, soups, and a range of bagel sandwiches. On most mornings they'll offer up tasty yogurt-fruit-granola parfaits that are a great alternative if bagels aren't your thing.

Drinks & Nightlife

This has quickly become one of Pine's Streets favorite breweries. Located next door to The Great Northern, Zero Gravity offers a variety of craft beers brewed on site. It's also an easy walk from the house.

I selected "everything else" for this location, because Arts Riot is a restaurant, bar, music venue, special event location, and food truck haven (on Fridays during the summer) in one. Be sure to check their performance schedule before arriving, or plan your trip around their events. Another easy walk from the house, this is a must stop if you're into delicious food, music, and experiencing the South End culture.

This venue is connected to "Radio Bean" and "Lampshop", and all offer an artsy ambiance where great food, tasty beverages, and eclectic local music come together. Duino Duende is a restaurant that features world street foods where you can enjoy fish or Korean tacos, Falafel, or chicken and waffles. Great vegan and vegetarian options.

Sightseeing

This beautiful park is located right on Lake Champlain and has some fun secluded beaches- both sandy and rocky beaches. It's another great spot to watch Burlington's remarkable sunset.

Parks & Nature

The St. John's Club is here as a reference point as it itself is a private club. But, with it being about a mile from the house and next to one of the best beaches, I thought I'd share. If you walk or drive to St. John's Club, you'll want to keep going past it until the next stop sign. Turn right at the stop sign and you'll be on a dead end road. At the end of the road are the steps that lead down to "Hidden Beach". It's the perfect spot to cool off in the lake and/or watch the sunset over Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains.

Shopping

Church Street is fun for both window shoppers and serious shopper shoppers. Between clothing stores, art, shoes, books, knick knacks and more, there's something for everyone ... who likes to shop. It's filled with cafes and restaurants for when you need to refuel. Also, it's just a short walk from the waterfront, so don't hesitate to take a detour down to the lake if you need a break from shopping.

Essentials

Located in the city center (and coming soon to the South End), City Market is a coop that offers local and organic foods, sustainable goods, and pretty much anything you need for day-to-day living. They also have a terrific warm food bar where you can grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner, at a great price.
