Dog Mountain is set on 150 private mountaintop acres in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. The grounds are always open to people and their dogs. Stephen Huneck, an artist and writer of 10 books inspired by his black Lab, Sally, turned the barn at Dog Mountain into a gallery for his artwork of whimsical woodcarvings. The unspoiled haven is covered with hiking trails and dog ponds. Wildflowers abound in the summer and snow-shoeing is a favorite activity in the winter.
