This is Athens' sculpture park and it is a great spot for a pic nic known only to Athenians and mostly to Athenians living nearby. It is part of Greece's National Gallery with exhibits both indoors and outdoors. It is also a great place for a run and perfect for kids!

A fantastic open air movie theatre. This is one of our favourite places to watch films, it's just a few minutes' walk from our apartment. What's best, you can eat and have wonderful drinks while watching the film under the stars.

Brilliant museum, very close to the apartment. Great cafe and fantastic shop. Occasionally hosts amazing contemporary art exhibitions that complement its Cycladic exhibits.

This is a gorgeous building and the oldest educational institution for the performing arts in modern Greece. Maria Callas started out as a student of the Athens Conservatoire.
You can enter and explore its simple modernist interiors yourselves - every window has a fantastic view! Young kids use it outdoor spaces to try out dancing etc and exhibitions are regularly hosted here. The building is being gently renovated.

The first modern Olympics were held in 1896 in this gorgeous ancient stadium. We love even driving by! This is the finishing spot for Athens' annual (and original) Marathon race. The stadium also hosts concerts and ceremonies.
