If you want to skip climbing all the way to St. George´s Castle this (free) elevator will take you half the way. At the top you´ll be in front of Largo do Chão do Loureiro. Here you can then take a second elevator located inside Pingo Doce supermarket.

This elevator is very useful to go to the castle. It is free and it will take you to Pingo Doce supermarket building. There is also a lift at this building that takes you almost to the Castle!
