In the heart of the city, this museum is a fantastic place to visit with children or just if you're interested in science and industry. It houses a replica of the first ever computer 'baby' which was created in Manchester University in 1948 . "Built and designed by Tom Kilburn and Freddie Williams at The University of Manchester, it was the first electronic digital computer capable of storing a program." There is also a whole building dedicated to the industrial revolution that houses machinery that was powered by steam. Lots of interactive stuff to do for the kids too.
