If you don't make it up Mount Wellington this is a nice alternative to see great views of Hobart. There's a lovely cafe there too

Ride the Metro bus from Macquarie St Bus Stop N (Franklin Square), to the suburb of Mt Nelson, terminating at the Mt Nelson signal station. Stunning elevated vistas of the Derwent River and shores. Stop at the tearooms while waiting for the return bus to take you back to the city.

Great views across Hobart and towards Port Arthur on a clear day. There is also a cafe at the top if you want to stop for coffee, ice cream or lunch.
