Road Biking - Hood River to Mosier “Trail” - This is a 22 Mile Round Trip on paved roads. Pick up the road at China Gorge which is where Highway 35 comes down into Hood River. Cross the HR Bridge and stay STRAIGHT and this will take you up the hill past Tumalum Lumber and to China Gorge on the left. Park in the Parking lot across the street. The road heads uphill out of the parking lot to the East.

This is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. Anything river or mountain. This is where you want to visit. Because of it's unique location on the Columbia River, this is one of the premier windsurfing and kiteboarding locations in the world. Fun to just sit and watch the action on the river. This is also a local favorite spot to pick fruit in the summer and fall . You can drive the popular "fruit loop" and get your fill. Favorite: Grateful Vineyard - check out their website for details, cross country skiing at tea cup lake.

Cute town East of Portland, right on the Columbia river. There's always lots of wind on the river in that area, so you'll see many windsurfers, kitesurfers, etc. Also known for its wineries Highly recommended there is Okalani, a good (and very fairly priced) sushi spot, and the Pfriem brewery. If you're there in summer, ask for their Wit beer (not hoppy, light but very tasty!).
