columbia city :: just a few miles to the east is another vibrant neighborhood....Columbia City is one of the most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in the country, and a hotspot for restuaurants and pubs. Lotties Lounge is a fun neighborhood pub and has live music on the weekend. Columbia City Alehouse has decent food, including a drool worthy Reuben sandwich. If you want to catch some sports, Rookie’s is a good spot and their food is good as well. For a live music show check out the Columbia City Theater for local talent, and the Ark Lodge Cinema is a recently restored movie house. the Columbia City Farmer’s Market from May to October is also a must do.

Charming and full of local shops including a kids store, a butcher, an ice cream shop with pinball machines and a giant PCC grocery store. There are also pubs and restaurants and even a really cool, old theater.

Check out nearby vibrant yet historic Columbia City (5-10 minutes via car) replete with delicious coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, and so much more. Coffee --- Coffeeholic - Vietnamese coffee joint with creative drinks. Olympia Coffee - Enjoy an excellent cup of coffee or magic created by their baristas. They also have a nice selection of local baked goods. Empire Coffee - Cozy cafe with back patio, serving food all day. Don't miss the delicious waffles. Food --- Island Soul - Family-run Caribbean-inspired soul food. Jackalope Tex Mex - Just dang good tex-mex food. Emma's BBQ - Farther south towards Hillman City that has mouth-watering, lip-lap smacking BBQ. Drinks --- Persephone - Sister bar to La Medusa (Southern Italian food, also delicious). Cute place to grab a drink and enjoy some Italian fare. Dessert --- Molly Moon's - Best ice cream in Seattle. 'Nuff said.

Area: Columbia City Travel Time: 10 mins This is a historically preserved very cool neighborhood that is very close to us. Many place of interest and great places to eat- plus a community run movie theater. They have several great coffee shops, a bakery of distinction and a very popular breakfast spot. The Columbia City Alehouse has terrific food too.
