Amazing waterfalls, Indian trails to hike and folklore, views in the Gorge. An olympic size public pool, and grilling area. A Watkins Glen Staple.
The hike up the Gorge at Watkins Glen is fabulous. I recommend you walk up because you see so much more going up. Coming down may be slightly easier but you don't see as much. If you haven't done it; Do it. The Village of Watkins Glen is such a little tourist stop. Great place to pick up a souvenir.
Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course.
