You’ll be hard pressed to see all of Kew’s 300 acres in one day. You will leave wanting to return, and in doing so become attached to its rich history and crucial research. Founded in 1759, it is one of the most famous and special gardens in the world. I never tire of looking at the exotic plants of the Palm House or the magnificent trees of the arboretum. If I had to choose one spot for a picnic, I’d head to the uncrowded Queen Charlotte’s Cottage, near the natural conservation area, which is filled with native trees and flowers.

If you are a flora and fauna enthusiast you have to visit Kew Gardens. This is a great day out and surprisingly there is some decent activities for younger kids as well.
The world famous botanical gardens at Kew are amazing. They also have great events and shows there. Take the 237 or 267 to Kew Bridge and walk across the bridge to the Victoria gates to get in.
