You will pass Diamond Caverns before you get to Mammoth Cave and it is worth the stop! The Cave is actually located under the old hotel. Mammoth Cave is a very dry cave whereas Diamond Caverns is a very wet cave meaning one will see lots more formations all in one place. You will also like their gift shop.
