Best Gaudí’s house design. He was asked to reform the previous building and the result was this colorist and personal architectural 100% Gaudí style. Curved lines, organic forms like bones or plants and artificial forms like masks. The roof seems a scaly back of a dragon.

“Casa Milà, popularly known as La Pedrera (meaning “stone quarry” in Catalan), is Antoni Gaudí’s last civil work, which he started in 1906 and finished in 1912. Although Antoni Gaudí was particularly well known for his modernist phase, this work is considered “modern”. Included in the World Heritage List in 1984, along with Park Güell and Palau Güell, it was one of the first places of the industrial era to be added to the list of the most exceptional sites in the world. Its nickname, “La Pedrera”, refers to its external appearance, where stone has been used as a key material for the design of the façade and the balconies.”

“Gaudí’s magical garden park, opened in 1926, is a huge space full of fascinating modernist designs, garden features, and amazing views. It’s a perfect day trip, ideal if you want to get lost and let your imagination fly. Come early or late in the day to avoid the crowds, and bring a snack to eat while enjoying the views! As a curiosity, you should know entrepreneur Eusebi Güell gave Gaudí the assignment of drawing up plans for developing an estate for well-off families on this large property. He wanted to recreate the British residential parks, which is why he named it Park Güell, in English.”
