“An expansive lawn area with tall palms and kiawe trees providing plenty of shade adorn the park, with lots of lush grass to go along with the small pockets of sand on the beach. It’s quiet here and almost never crowded. Like most Kona beaches, Pahoehoe Beach is a comfortable place for a picnic or to simply sit and watch the surf. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches scattered throughout the park.”

“Swim with Wild Dolphins. We are Kona’s first and original “Swim with Dolphins” Adventure; an adventure the whole family will enjoy and talk about for years to come. Including getting some great photo opportunities both above and below the surface. This 4 hour adventure is focused on locating and spending quality time with the Hawaiian Spinner and Spotted Dolphins. Depending on their desire to interact with us; you may have an opportunity one or more times to view them from the boat and in the water. Depending on where and when we locate the dolphins, there may also be time for a quick snorkel at one of the many beautiful reef areas along the windward coast line. The Kona Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii is one of the few places in the world that is convenient and accessible for watching dolphins in the wild.”

“This is a historical site. The City of Refuge: Ancient Hawaiian Sanctuary Protected Law Breakers from Death Sentence For the ancient people living on the Hawaiian Islands, kapu was a major factor in their day-to-day lives. Kapu was a system of laws that governed political and religious affairs as well as lifestyle choices and gender roles. Anyone caught guilty of breaking kapu was sentenced to death. The only refugee a kapu rule-breaker could find was at Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau, a sanctuary that also protected defeated warriors and civilians in times of war. No one could be harmed while they were within the sacred walls of Puʻuhonua. ”
