This is a great way to see the crater at a magnificent time of day. You’ll wake up in the middle of the night to Paia and get driven to the top of Haleakala where you’ll find a perfect spot to stand and get ready for the golden light. Maui Sun Riders gives you the freedom to make your way down the crater at your own speed – setting you off on your own ahead of the guided groups that go down together with a leader. You’ll want to pack warmer gear for this, as it’s quite cold up there at 10,000ft. when you’re waiting in the dark for the sun to rise!
