Totally worth a morning or a whole day of fun…Easy to see the views, a bit of a walk or tough hike to experience the wooded areas and totally worth it. I thought being from Colorado, it would be silly, however I LOVE it up here!!
If you're looking to have a fun day with great food and scenery then the palm springs Tram is highly recommended.
The top tourist attraction in the Coachella Valley. A "must see" when visiting Palm Springs.
Top of the tram temps are 15-20* cooler than the desert floor, dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen. Call ahead to book tickets , closure weeks and parking information.
Amazing ride to the top, bring a jacket and good shoes! Great restaurant at the top!
unique tourist attraction - it is not the world's tram in the world but has the steepest rise of any - going through at least 5 levels of vegetation, if it's rainy here in Valley (rare), prob snow top
Amazing views and a way to get away from the heat in the summer. Take a jacket, it snows up there!
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in Palm Springs, California, is the largest rotating aerial tramway in the world. It was opened in September 1963 as a way of getting from the floor of the Coachella Valley to near the top of San Jacinto Peak and was constructed in rugged Chino Canyon!
First time visitor this is a must. October- April you will need a warm coat and hiking boots.
Make a day of it! The entrance is on highway 111, this map point is the END of the tram path.
This is one of the most interesting activities in the Palm Springs area. Highly recommend it!!!

If hiking or taking in spectacular mountain views is your thing, the Aerial Tramway is a must. You'll be over 8,500 feet above Palm Springs enjoying cooler temperatures and learning about the history and environment of the tram. Lunch and dinner are available at the upper station.
Just down the hill, you can take the aerial tramway up to the mountain. Plan at least a day in advance and make sure to get there really early during peak season.
