Galveston Ferry Terminal

This is a cheap way to see Galveston bay and usually a whole lot of dolphins. It’s a fun family outing.
Fun to walk on and ride round trip. Often times you will see porpoise. Very enjoyable to drive car across and enjoy driving on beaches on Bolivar Peninsula but know that returning you have to get at end of line on other side and wait your turn for the return to Galveston. Line may be short or long…
Ride the ferry to Boliver Peninsula. Check wait times before you go. The lines can be very long in the summer!
I always say skip the dolphin tours and opt for the free ferry ride, even though lines can sometimes be long it's still a great experience. You can feed the seagulls bread off the back or watch the dolphin frolic off the bow. You can even explore Bolivar island or just catch the next ride back.
This is a free activity that your family won't forget. Romantic at night! Park at the terminal and walk on. Ride across and back. Stop and buy a cheap loaf of bread and let the seagulls swoop down and pick it from your hand.
