Beautiful hiking trail under old growth trees. Waterfalls during some parts of the year.

Approximately 11 miles north of the rental, this trail is about a 5.5 mile lollipop loop. Fairly steep, especially the first mile and you will feel a little sense of accomplishment on making it to the top. Good ocean view at the top. For running this trail, the author has a preference for going up the west side loop and then coming down the east side loop. The west side is slightly steeper and the footing a little more technical, so it is easier to run down the east side and also have to worry less about rolling an ankle going down the east side. But this is just one person’s preference, your mileage might vary.
