There are a lot of hills and stairs, which is not very common in Paris. When you go up, it can be quite difficult, but when you go down, it’s quite nice! I go up and down, up and down—it’s fun! I usually start at the Colonel Fabien metro and run up rue Mathurin Moreau toward the park, then run clockwise. One lap is 2K. The view of Paris is really nice at the top near rue Botzaris, so it’s a great place to end a run. There are benches to use for leg extensions while looking out over Montmartre and Sacré-Coeur and all the Parisian rooftops. And the Buttes Chaumont metro is right there for your return home.
Very Parisian, can be crowded during holiday season. One of my favourite parks because it's not far and it's very green and natural compared to other parisian parks. You also get a pretty good view from the top.
The park takes its name from the bare hill (chauve-mont) that once occupied this site. It became a place where gypsum was mined, and where the limestone was quarried to be used in buildings in Paris and the US. Worse, though, was that the site also became a dumping ground for sewage, even horse…
Where everyone go when it's hot outside. It's actually very worth a visit (visit the cave!) and very close the flat.
10 min walk and you would have access to the most important park in the north of the city. The Buttes-Chaumont Park is green, with a vue and good restaurants. Perfect for sunrises and sunsets!

“La villette is difficult to describe... it's very modern, very new parisian, It's amazing for kids, playgrounds everywhere, huge slides, trampolines, a really cool cinema, a butterfly museum, but it's also nice for the nature areas, the bike rides... Plan to spend the whole afternoon there at least, time flies faster than normal over there.”

“Very warm and casual atmosphere, to dance and have drinks, right next to the Buttes Chaumont. Often old music, it depends, really fun poace. Lots of Parisians love this place...”
