A 20-minute drive northwards from La Chablisienne brings you the historic township of New Norfolk. Established in 1807 New Norfolk is the major population and business Centre in the Derwent Valley. It’s the ideal destination for those with an interest in antiques and collectables, having a number of well-stocked shops and vendors. Every Saturday from 8am to 2pm the Banjos New Norfolk market is held along High Street with an average of 75 stall holders. Being an enthusiastic attendee of markets across Tasmania myself, it is my favourite market and I highly recommend taking a look.

New Norfolk is home to the Salmon Ponds, the prettiest New Norfolk River and Autumnal Trees , as well as the best Sunday markets and all week round, antique stores, machinery memorabilia, gardens and food eaits quirky ting places including the Agrian Kitchen and the Patchwork Cafe. YOU MUST try New Norfolk. Half and hour from the glasshouse- a delightful drive. It is quaint and is up and coming in terms of its combined garden, antiques, garden displays and food choices. I think you will wish you had more money to buy things!.
