The Maclay House has restored living and dining rooms and serves as a center for information about the Maclays, camellias and the gardens. Nearly 8 miles of hiking, biking and horse trails run through the park, which also features a picturesque picnic/recreation area with covered shelters, a swimming area, a paddleboat launch, rental kayak and a playground. Audio tours of the gardens are available. Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum. “A beautiful little park and walking trail surrounding Lake Ella is complete with small local shops and the occasional food truck nights (usually Thursdays) and live music. Be sure to bring some food to feed the ducks! These ducks grow up around a lot of dogs, as the trail is popular with dog walkers, so they will wag their tails when you approach with food just like a pup!”
