Excellent views of he city, plus massive sand beaches that seem to go for miles, especially when the tide is out. Also beach volleyball. Spanish Banks, is the most westerly of he beaches [unless one chooses to continue on to the nude beaches at Wreck Beach], but Lucarno, and Jericho beaches…

One of Vancouver’s many ocean beaches, this one is wonderful for low tide walking. You can walk out for what feels like forever, seeing bald headed eagles fly above while seeing incredible city views in the distance. A good Oceanside concession stand available on dry days that sells good coffee, ice…

Picnic, swim in the ocean and enjoy the sunset. Parking can fill up, especially on weekends.

A bit further out but if you're looking for a beach that isn't too crowded relatively speaking, this is a good place to check out. While there are a lot of people, the beach covers a large stretch of land.

Garden
“This highly popular green-thumbed oasis is a 22-hectare, 255,000-plant idyll that offers a strollable web of pathways weaving through specialized garden areas: the Rhododendron Walk blazes with color in spring, while the Korean Pavilion is a focal point for a fascinating Asian collection. Save time to get lost in the hedge maze and look out for the herons, owls and turtles that call the park and its ponds home. Informative guided tours are also offered here daily from April to October.”
