Bastrop - You wont believe this place. Local zoo, locally run. The owner has put his heart and sole into this amazing refuge for lions, hippopotamus, Peacocks and other fun, amazing creatures.

They have a Zoo Boo celebration. Have not yet been, but it's on our list for a nice fall day. Light display in December. It's the fasting growing zoo in Texas.

This is a zoo located near our neighborhood with some surprising up close animal encounters. You can feed Tank the hippo or even befriend a lemur if you so chose.
