If you have time, going south to Monterey, they have beautiful shoreline view and a fantastic aquarium there.

The aquarium has an inceredible assortment of sea life within its walls. My preference is the jellyfish exhibit but the sea others are my youngest grandchildren's preference. The older ones love the "hands-on" part of the aquarium.

Biggest attraction on the Peninsula, and arguably best aquarium in the US. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is famous all over the world for its efforts in marine life education and conservation.
