Great Chestnut Hill spot. The original place to go to find a Schmitter — the other local favorite steak sandwich — made with cheese, fried onions, tomatoes, salami, and a special Schmitter sauce.

Iconic, small, local Chestnut Hill family-oriented tavern with great soups and sandwiches. Favorite place for local residents. So devoted a clientele it doesn't even have a sign outside.

Also a restaurant - typical Irish pub joint. Always pleasantly crowded with friendly people. Sports game always going on TVs.

McNally’s is a favorite for most locals in Chestnut Hill. It’s pub food on the whole, but it is known for the Schmitter, a hefty meat sandwich named after Mike Schmidt of the Phillies. Afterwards try any of Meg’s cakes. It does have sports playing all the time if you don’t mind that. They are super friendly. They do have an outside, Covid-friendly dining environment.
