These are the historic "travesseiros" pastries from Sintra. Our King Carlos used to ride his horse from Pena Palace here in the wee hours of the morning to eat the just-made, hot travesseiros out of the oven.

You cannot go to Sintra without trying the "travesseiros" from Piriquita. They're absolutely amazing, regional pastry.
