The famous Nitmiluk Gorge otherwise known as Katherine Gorge is 30km outside the town centre (25km from Grey on Gray). There are many ways you can experience the gorge including walking, boat cruise, helicopter and canoeing. If you are lucky enough to be here in the wet season we would HIGHLY recommend the walk to Southern Rockhole (you can even catch a ferry there if you aren’t up for the walk). Nitmiluk Accommodation and Tours operate the campground, Cicada Lodge & restaurant, cruises, canoeing and café. You can book online or through Katherine Information Centre..
