A government-funded theater that does a fantastic job celebrating Spain’s film culture. They program full seasons from the country’s best auteurs. A good place to go revisit classics on the big screen and discover obscure independent filmmakers. The Filmoteca also has a wonderful library of film-related books, videos, and magazines.
Plays international and independent movies Also a nice cafe right in the filmoteca called la Monroe.
Alternative movie theatre. In the front of it there is a lot of bars and restaurants. Must See!
Cinemateque for film buffs - great films at very cheap prices, in a colourful part of the Raval.

“Sifó could not be called all that novel but it still has a great atmosphere which is modern and sophisticated. The restaurant has two rooms; the first is the biggest one with a bar and tables behind for dinner and drinks, this area then bottle necks into the DJ decks, from where music is played to spice up the evenings. The bar is decorated with bright coloured bottles and the ambience is fun and relaxing regardless of how full it is. The prices are reasonable, a beer is about 3€ and cocktails between 6 and 7€. You will find a lot of different people here. Some want just for a drink and others who want to have a nice dinner.”

“located on the Carrer Sant Pau, opened in 1820 and looks like it hasn't been changed much since then. The place is usually crowded as people pack themselves in to enjoy the bohemian ambiance. The bar is known as a place to drink some absinthe, a powerful drink popular when the bar first opened its doors. A slotted spoon, a sugar cube and small bottle of water are served with your order of absinthe to facilitate the ritual of drinking the liquor. This involves placing the sugar cube on the spoon, dipping it into the absinthe, lighting it on fire and then extinguishing it with the bottle of water so that the sugar drips down into the drink. Carrer de Sant Pau, 65 (Old Town, Ramblas) ”
