Nature
Fern Glade is literally 3 minutes off the highway but you seem a world away. It is where I picnicked with family as a child and enjoyed peaceful short walks as an adult. I have been lucky enough to watch the Platypus play, many times, on the banks of the Emu river. There is a Friends of Fern Glade Face Book group if you are looking for more info.

Little penguins are always about on the shores of West Beach in Burnie. Wonderful to see them come ashore of an evening.

This local bakery is very high quality that doubles as a café. Great for breakfast or lunch. One block from this accommodation it is located in the Somerset Village. We do grab our coffee over the road at the milk bar due to loyalty so we would love your feedback on the bakery coffee :)

One day in October each year is the Tulip Festival in Wynyard, but for the month you can tour the farm situated a top Table Cape (stunning views) - visit the lighthouse while you are there.

Unique to say the least. This volcanic plug just pops up. Climb to the top and walk around the top. Situated in the historic town of Stanley you feel like you are stepping back in time. Awesome seafood.

It may have the coldest waters on the coast but it is certainly the prettiest beach. Drive in from the cliff top to see the stunning white sands and beautiful waters. Not really that good for surfing...head to Preservation Bay or for the big stuff go to Marrawah. https://www.ourtasmania.com.au/northwest/marrawah.html
