Set in an industrial structure in the heart of Philadelphia’s Fishtown, Frankford Hall nails the perfect balance between edge and charm. Complete with massive garage doors and trees strung with twinkling lights, the space spreads out the action between spacious open-air picnic tables and indoor bar area. Frankford Hall embodies true Teutonic spirit-raising with a modern twist, where German and American beers flow by the half and full liter, joining two-fisted eats like sausages, burgers and warm Bavarian pretzels.

Excellent beer garden with some decent (but somewhat limited) food options to soak up what you're drinking. Highly recommend for a convivial place to hang out with your family and friends, though I might avoid primetime on the weekends when it can be very loud and crowded. I like to go in the late afternoon / early evening.

This indoor/outdoor oasis in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood is a deceptively simple concept — take a traditional German biergarten and give it a modern edge. Pass through Frankford Hall’s red-and-white candy-striped doors and enter the spacious beer garden with seating for 150 people inside and 250 more in the outdoor courtyard. The renovated industrial space features exposed brick walls with reclaimed industrial metals. The indoor space is separated from the gravel-lined courtyard by metal garage doors, which remain open during the warm summer months. Communal picnic tables provide plenty of seating while three separate bars — one specifically reserved for beer — keep the drinks flowing.
