grab the water taxi that takes you all round two by the water is over the bridge the you go under about a block away.

If you're not up for captaining your own boat, this is a great and fairly inexpensive way to experience the extensive Fort Lauderdale waterway system. The nearest stop is approximately 1 mile east of Emerson Court. $28 unlimited all day (seniors $23, kids $14), after 4 pm $18. Family packs available. www.watertaxi.com
