During the winter months locals clear the ice for hockey and skating in general. often with a huge figure 8 and two spots for games, it's a great spot to wall around and explore.

Geological adventure during the winter when marsh ice is solid ( not always a sure bet, just ask my husband.) Access by parking at Burlington High School and cross North Ave. Follow signs, only 1/8 mile down to caves. In case you take an unexpected plunge (again, eye roll toward my husband) you’ll want to have backup clothes in car and a friend (wife) handy.
