“Old Colorado City is a hidden gem. I’ve talked to natives who have lived in Colorado their whole lives and they don’t even know about it. It’s about a half a mile long but contains some of the top restaurants in the area. There are also events there on the weekends, such as art fairs and music festivals.”

“This is a fun activity if you’re sore from hiking and just want to relax and enjoy the scenery. There’s an entrance fee ($15 per person) that includes a shuttle ride to the top of Pikes Peak. A car is needed because the shuttle begins about halfway up. They used to have a train that left from Manitou Springs but it is being repaired. On top of Pikes Peak there’s a gift shop and a donuts shop. They are actually building a new visitors/education center but it won’t be done until summer 2020. I would make sure you’re hydrated and have eaten before going. The summit is over 14,000 feet so it’s very easy to get light headed due to the lower oxygen levels.”
