The National Park offers 90 minutes tours of the Keys Ranch from October - May. The ranch was originally built in 1910 so its very interesting just walking around to see all of the buildings, tools and cars. You can reserve tickets at Recreation .gov

The Keys Ranch is the prime example of early settlement in the Joshua Tree National Park area. Bill Keys was the area's leading character, and his ranch is a symbol of the resourcefulness of early settlers. The ranch is an extensive complex of small frame buildings built between 1910 and Keys' death in 1964.

The story of William F. Keys and his family in particularly representative of the hard work and ingenuity it took to settle and prosper in the Mojave Desert. The ranger-guided tour of the ranch includes the colorful story of the 60 years Bill and Frances spent working together to make a life and raise their five children in this remote location. The ranch house, school house, store and workshop still stand; the orchard has been replanted; and the grounds are full of the cars, trucks, mining equipment, and spare parts that are part of the Desert Queen Ranch story.

Key's Ranch Tour is a Ranger guided tour in Joshua Tree National Park. Reservations and Fee required. Call or stop by a JTNP visitor center to make your reservation. Excellent 1.5 hour tour filled with history and photo opportunities of the Park interior.
