Riding in a community of people is the best part about biking. Ciclavia is an event that closes down city streets to cars. They’re most famous for the Heart of LA, when they close six miles of streets from the Arts District through downtown to Chinatown. Most people show up on bikes, and there are pit stops with music and activities. Look for other group rides around the city on the LA Explorers Club website. This group organizes monthly urban exploration rides around the city and also posts group rides of all types.
