Caldas da Rainha (The Queen's hot springs), is best known for ceramic pottery, for the magnificent D. Carlos park and for its Thermal Hospital, the oldest in the world.

Our favorite place to take visitors-the Park with lake and swans and ducks-you can rent a boat and go around the small like. We live the building of the school-pity it’s dilapidated as it’s soooo beautiful. The famous pottery shop is just above the park. The city Centre is nice to roam around many coffee shops, restaurants, shops... There’re mineral springs and the spa/rehabilitation center -just follow the sulfur smell but we never tried it.

Caldas da Rainha is a lovely town known for its old connection with the Portuguese Queen, Dona Leonor. Of particular interest is the lovely República Square that still boasts many of its 19th century buildings and is also known as “Praça da Fruta” (Fruit Square). Every morning there is a vegetable and fruit open air market. Shopping streets feed of this square. The D. Carlos I Park has tennis courts and a pond where you can rent boats. This wonderful park gives access to the wonderful José Malhoa Museum from the 19th century, with important collections of Portuguese art.
