Famous 3,800ft elevation summit. Access via bicycle is free, 11-miles to summit, 30-miles round trip, 3-4 hours. Top summit has viewpoint parking lot with views to Yosemite and San Francisco. Best sightseeing for nature lovers in the area. For hiking specifically, I'd recommend Lime Ridge off Treat Blvd, Castle Rock or Briones.

From the top you can see the curvature of the earth. On winter days it gets a dusting of snow.

State Park right on our doorstep! Absolutely amazing view at the summit, and museum to visit.

Fabulous Bay Area views and on a clear day all the way to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Good hiking for all levels. Visitor center on the summit.

Drive to the top of Mt. Diablo for a wonderful view. On a clear day you can see San Francisco.
