In the home of Rippl-Rónai - Famous Hungarian Painter József Rippl-Rónai was born in Kaposvár in 1861. He studied in Munich and in Paris and for several years he was part of the Parisian art scene. Later he moved back to Kaposvár and as a result, the town’s artistic life started to flourish. He bought the Róma Villa in 1908, which served as his artistic retreat till his death. The two-storey building reminding of the Italian Renassaince villas with its balanced proportions, was surrounded by a six-hectare park with trees plus a converted studio.
