The entire Boise National Forest abuts the city's northern edge, and organizations like Ridge to Rivers maintain hundreds of miles of trails. The national forest also includes nearby ski slopes.

Boise National Forest is great for fishing, hiking, and hanging out along the river. Less than 5 miles to the Forest sign from the cabin. It's a dirt road past the sign, in Winter you will need an AWD or 4WD vehicle.
