For those who want to let the train take the strain, SW Trains run from London Waterloo to Axminster and on to Exeter. Axminster taxi service will pick you up from Axminster and deliver you Yardarm which is about 3 miles.

River Cottage Restaurant and near by is Cricket St Thomas. Also if you love old private properties and gardens visit Forde Abbey. Dawlish Wake has a swing on the hill with a view and a place to contemplate.
