Christ of Havana Statue in Havana is located in the town of Casablanca, across the bay from Old Havana. The Christ is a statue of white marble created in 1958 in Italy by Cuban artist Jilma Madera.

The Christ of Havana (Spanish: Cristo de La Habana) is a large sculpture representing Jesus of Nazareth on a hilltop overlooking the bay in Havana, Cuba. It is the work of the Cuban sculptor Jilma Madera, who won the commission for it in 1953.

Take the little boat in avenida del puerto (lancha), cross the bay to Casablanca, climb the steps and go watch the nicest panorama of the city. The place to take the boat is very near the casa. You also can complete with a stop to Regla, sanctuary of Yemaya.

It stands tall on a hill and can be seen from the harbor below. It is located near the Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabaña, the Castillo De los Tres Reyes del Morro and the Casablanca Havana Club where Che Guevara lived after the revolution; so there are several historical things to see close by. If you like to walk, then you can take the Ferry like the locals do. The ferry from Old Havana to casa Blanca (you pay 10 cents CUP). Then walk up to the statue, seeing the fort on the way.

This majestic representation of Jesus Christ, only four decades old, is part of the landscape that characterizes the entrance to the Havana harbor. It is 20 meters tall, weighs 320 tons and consists of 67 different pieces, and made in white Carrara marble, contrasts with the gray rocks around it. The monument was made in Italy by Cuban artist Jilma Madera, who didn’t use any male model and instead based her work on her masculine beauty ideal.
