On the top of the mountain, overlooking the inland Lake Como, there is a lighthouse!! which you can walk up to. It was built in honour of Alessandro Volta, famous for inventing the battery.

If you like to walk, get to this phare from where you can enjoy the better view Como offer on the lake. Get to Brunate via the Funicolare (see).

On clear days the view is incredible, the lighthouse is located on a mountain besides Como and you can get a really amazing view of the city and the lake. (Not recommended on rainy or cloudy days)

Beautiful Lighthouse... it is a quite a climb to get there from Brunate. ( I reccommend getting a bike, taxi or car or just walk but be warned it is very steep). At the parking there are some cafes and restaurants for a lunch or espresso. The lighthouse itself can be entered, however it was closed in the early moning. The view is spectacular. Tip: go there in the evening/twilight. It is a great place to phtograph the lake and surrounding villages
