Early mornings and evenings are best for catching the cool of the day. Walk, run, cycle, scoot… the choice is yours. Stop off at Nighcliff beach and enjoy the sunset. Picnickers come out every night to the cliffs and lawns and the communal enjoyment of the foreshore is uplifting.

Free activity. A shared path from Nightcliff to Rapid Creek connects numerous playgrounds, outdoor exercise stations and the iconic Nightcliff Pool where you can enjoy a swim while taking in views over Darwin Harbour. Experience a short or long walk being the Nightcliff Foreshore Park walk (3 kilometers) or the Nightcliff Casuarina Coastal walk (11 kilometers - average time 2.52hrs). Important to take water, snack, hat, sunscreen. Backpack provided. Recommend the walk either early or later in day to escape high heat times. Ideal for a swim in the Nightcliff pool on the way home. Early walk could entail a surpreme sunrise and later walk may mean a stunning sunset experience. A variety of street food vans on offer.

Outdoor gym stations all along the foreshore. A fantastic place to meander along the shared walking/jogging and cycle paths. Many picnic tables and areas on the grass or venture left or right for sandy beach areas. Mostly shaded.
