Barbara's At the Brewery

Barbara’s is the restaurant at L.A.’s Brewery Art Colony, a live-work place for artists. It’s a hidden gem, and there’s hardly ever a crowd. The beer list is tightly curated, with lots of stuff that's limited edition or limited release. Try something you’ve never had before. Last time I was there, I had a blonde stout, which for beer nerds is like, "Oh, man, how did they do this?" It had a cream ale color, but with the chocolate and coffee flavors of stout. It’s the kind of thing beer people make just because they can.
